John. Male. Age: 40. Height: 184cm. Weight: 117kgs

Married father of four (with another one on the way), Managing Director of company. I have been on blood pressure medication for three years and I understand the benefits of losing weight and being healthy, but struggle with motivation to make it happen. Lost 30 kilograms two years ago while training for an Ironman Triathlon, but have put 22 of those kilos back on.

Goal Weight: 100 kilograms by October 1 (90 kilograms by December 22.... due date of baby)

Weight loss plan: Eat healthy, plenty of exercise. Reverse the eating cycle.... will have medium breakfasts, medium lunch and small dinners with 3 healthy snack breaks in between meals.

Weakness: Food, food, food. LOVE IT!!! Used often in a crisis.

Biggest Challenge: Staying away from the fridge.... remaining injury free..... exercising no matter what the weather is doing!

Exercise plan: Begin with 30 minute walks and 30 minute gym/stretching/core balance session daily for week one. Increase walk session by 10 minutes each week. From week 2 onwards, walks will be supplemented with bike rides on alternate days, while gym sessions will be supplemented by swimming on alternate days. There will be no jogging.... too much damage to the old legs and knees. Building to final five weeks which should include daily walk or ride session of 90 minutes, complimented by a 30 minute stretching/gym/swim session. Final 5 weeks of challenge I will exercise for only six days per week to give body recovery time.

Hi John, Your exercise plan sounds like a good idea. I like the idea of 'no high impact' Good luck.
