Hunter the perfect spot to film John Marsden favourite

IMAGES from filming of Tomorrow When the War Began, taken at Dungog, have been released by Screen NSW.

The filming of the new movie, based on the hugely successful series of books by Australian author John Marsden, began on September 28.

It is expected to be shot in the region over six weeks and production will be based at Fox Studios.

The NSW Government provided a $100,000 grant through the Regional Film Fund to attract moviemakers to the Hunter.

The Government was touting yesterday its ability to secure big film projects, with the news that a high-profile Bollywood movie would begin shooting in Sydney next month.

The movie is a remake of the US hit Step Mom featuring Bollywood stars Kareen Kapoor and Kajal.

Minister Assisting the Premier on the Arts, Virginia Judge, said the project was expected to create 200 jobs for cast and crew.

It followed a blow to the NSW film industry earlier this month, when movie makers pulled out of plans to shoot the superhero movie The Green Lantern in Sydney.

The big-budget adaptation of the comic book superhero was due to start filming in November, but Warner Bros decided not to shoot in Australia due to the strength of the Aussie dollar.

The article mentions "images" as if there are more than one. However, there is only one image with the article, are there more around the net somewhere or is there actually just one?

It's fantastic that we can now pull down the fences to welcome film makers into the hunter instead of being the once unrecognised diamond in the rough.
