A RANKIN Park woman is recovering in a Peruvian hospital after she was shot by a cab driver on the way to the airport.
Elizabeth ‘‘Lilly’’ Littlewood was heading to the airport to fly home from Lima, Peru, with her partner late last week when their taxi driver produced a weapon.
Ms Littlewood was shot in the torso at point-blank range attempting to get out of the taxi.
Ms Littlewood’s father Rex is with his daughter as she recovers in hospital.
‘‘The important thing is that she’s in great shape [considering her injury],’’ he said.
‘‘The luck of the game is that she drew all the long straws in one.’’
