A MAN is dead following a three-car accident on the New England Highway at Maitland this morning.
The accident occurred just after 7am just south of the Private PZ Trzecinski Bridge.
A 20-year-old man died at the scene.
Paramedics treated two other men at the scene before they were taken to John Hunter Hospital for treatment.
A 38-year-old man has suffered serious chest and knee injuries while a 19-year-old man suffered minor chest injuries.
They were reported to be in a stable condition.
There were some delays for motorists this morning, but both lanes of the New England Highway have now been re-opened.
