A MAN has been shot in the head outside his Mt Hutton home by a gunman suspected of using an air rifle.
The 31-year-old man was in the front yard of his Harmony Crescent home before 4pm yesterday when he felt a sharp pain on the side of his head.
He pulled a 0.177 calibre projectile, believed to be from an air rifle, from his scalp.
He suffered a small cut but was otherwise uninjured.
Lake Macquarie police are investigating.
