A HAMILTON South man accused of sexually assaulting a seven-year-old girl in a shopping centre toilet was refused bail in Newcastle Local Court this afternoon.
Robert Jason Turnbull, 39, of Fowler Street, Hamilton South, appeared in court charged with aggravated sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, attempted sexual intercourse with a child, and assault with intent to have sexual intercourse with child.
A police statement tendered to the court said Turnbull entered a toilet cubicle with the girl, locked the door, then pulled down her skirt and underpants.
Turnbull did not enter pleas and will reappear in court next month.
