THE University of Newcastle Chamber Choir is through to the semi-finals on Battle Of The Choirs.
The choir will next perform on the television show on Sunday, July 27 at 7.30pm on Prime.
The winning choir from Battle Of The Choirs will be awarded $100,000, plus an album of their
performances from the series, titled Battle Cry, to be released by Universal Music on August 4.
Choir director Philip Matthias said choir members had to learn to move while singing as well as a whole new repertoire of rock songs to make the group more suitable for the show.
The choir includes 40 members, aged between 19 and 60.
