Location - one of the last remaining lengths of the 4-lane Pacific Highway between Doyalson and Swansea that does not have median barrier installed. The section in total usually has various median barrier model types installed; jersey, guardrail, and variations of wire-rope design are all used on this length, to arrest wayward vehicles by preventing likelihood of cross-over crashes. It is appropriate, and this is yet another example, that NSW consider median barriers as routine for ALL median separations where they are less than 20 metres wide. F3 is also a case in point, as are parts of the Pacific Highway upgrade, Hume etc. NSW, indeed Australia - can't even get 'road user safety items' mandated in new vehicles: high-visibility safety vests in cars, and hazard-warning triangles. Each for use at breakdowns and crash scenes, and as now mandatory in EU Continent. NSW lack operational full-time highway patrol, unlike in more prosperous times a decade or two ago.
