06 Feb, 2012 10:27 AM
MORE than 350 crews from around Australia will compete in the 2012 Navy Australian Open at Stockton Beach this weekend.

It is the second time Stockon has hosted the event, which is expected to inject more than $2 million into Newcastle’s economy.

‘‘Hopefully we will be able to keep it here for next year as well,’’ Newcastle MP Tim Owen said at yesterday’s launch.

Surf boat racing divisions include open men, open women, reserves, Under 23 men and women, under 19s and masters.
