Please explain: Pauline Hanson in Hunter move

17 Nov, 2010 03:00 AM
CONTROVERSIAL politician Pauline Hanson may soon call the Hunter home.

The former One Nation leader revealed she was moving to the region on Sydney radio yesterday, denying media reports she was emigrating to the UK.

"I won't tell you exactly where [I am moving]," she told Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O'. "It's around the Hunter Region."

It was believed Ms Hanson had a brother living in Port Stephens when she began her political career in the mid-90s.

Ms Hanson made her last public appearance in the area in 2007 when she visited Maitland to rally support for Pauline's United Australia Party.

Early this year she said she planned to deregister Pauline's United Australia Party, sell her house and relocate to the UK.

Ms Hanson was unavailable for comment.

Perfect place for a cashed up bogans' princess to relaunch a successful political career.. Will it be in time for the state election? I think we've found the premier for the new separatist state. Heck, let's make a new country - her majesty, commander general and high priestess Pauline Hanson will lead us out of sydneys shadows and Newcastle will be one of the great cities of the world like pyonyang, Havana and rangoon
