Police appeal for help to find missing girl

05 Nov, 2009 06:21 PM
POLICE are appealing for public help to find a 12-year-old girl, missing since midday from a Glendale school.

Monique Payne has not been seen since she left Glendale East Public School, Clarence Street, Glendale, following an alleged argument with a teacher.

Concerns were held for the girl's welfare as she suffered from a medical condition, a Lake Macquarie police spokesman said.

Monique is described as being about 150cm tall, with long brown hair and hazel coloured eyes.

She was last seen dressed in a blue and white chequered school tunic.

It was possible that Monique would visit shopping centres in Glendale, Cardiff, Kotara or Charlestown, police said.

Anyone who knows Monique's whereabouts is urged to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
