Police drag man from car after chase at East Maitland

10 Mar, 2010 09:27 AM
POLICE had to smash a car window and drag a man outside following a 15-minute chase this morning, it is alleged.

Officers investigating a domestic dispute began following a car about 2.30am before it stopped at traffic lights at the corner of New England Highway and Chelmsford Drive at East Maitland about 2.50am.

With several patrol cars surrounding the vehicle, it is alleged the man failed to get out of the car and had to be forcibly removed.

The East Maitland man, 35, was taken to Maitland police station where he has been charged with intimidation.

Police are investigating links with a fire that damaged a Woodberry property this morning.
