Search resumes for boy swept away at The Entrance Beach

A search is continuing for a teenage boy who has not been seen since being swept away in a rip of The Entrance Beach yesterday.

Emergency services were called to the beach about 3.45pm after receiving reports that several swimmers had been caught in a rip.

Police said they were told the Wattanobbi boy, 15, had been swimming with friends before they became stuck in a rip.

His three friends managed to swim back to shore, but he boy has not been seen since about 3.35pm.

An air, land and sea search continued until 9pm last night and resumed at 6am.
