THE news of a large windfall can take time to sink in.
But for a Singleton man who claimed about $1 million in Monday's Lotto draw it took a little more than most.
The father of two, who did not want to be named, did not believe Lotto officials who rang him with the news yesterday and agreed to call them back after checking the numbers himself.
The lucky winner will settle the mortgage on the family home before taking a trip to Europe.
He bought his ticket at the Singleton Pharmacy.
