Teenager to face court on Raymond Terrace murder charge

02 Sep, 2010 05:00 AM
A TEENAGER will face Newcastle Local Court today charged with murdering Raymond Terrace man Joshua Maynard.

Daniel James Forbes, 18, of McNamara Street, South Grafton, was charged at Belmont police station yesterday with murder and affray and did not apply for bail or enter pleas in Newcastle Local Court yesterday afternoon.

His co-accused, Chad Ross Sheddon and John Wayne Sheddon, also faced Newcastle Local Court yesterday after being charged in July with Mr Maynard's murder. They will reappear in October.

Police allege Chad Sheddon, 32, of Wentworth Street, Wallsend, was the person who pulled the trigger when Mr Maynard, 21, was shot on June 30 on Links Drive, Raymond Terrace.

John Sheddon, 31, of Links Drive, Raymond Terrace, and Mr Forbes are also charged with murder and affray.

John Sheddon's wife Louise Gai Sheddon, 29, was previously charged with concealing a serious offence and will face court later this month.

Mr Forbes will face court today. Police also charged a 19-year-old Raymond Terrace man yesterday in relation to Mr Maynard's death.

He was charged with common assault and affray, granted conditional bail and will face Raymond Terrace Local Court later this month.
