A TRUCK driver was killed yesterday after he flipped his vehicle near Bulahdelah.
The 52-year-old Central Coast man died at the scene from head and chest injuries on the Pacific Highway about 9.30am.
Police were investigating the crash but said they believed the driver lost control of his truck, which was carrying a load of concrete culverts, while taking a corner just outside Bulahdelah.
The truck flipped, landing on the cabin area.
The crash blocked one lane of the highway for most of the afternoon.
A report will be prepared for the coroner later this week.
In an unrelated incident, an elderly man in his 80s suffered leg and lower back injuries after being trapped in his vehicle for almost an hour in a crash near Aberdeen.
The man's vehicle collided with another car about 1.30pm on the New England Highway.
His passenger was also briefly trapped until fire crews cut the pair free.
The 20-year-old driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries during the accident.
Police were investigating the crash.
