Truck spill blocks Five Islands Road

19 Nov, 2009 09:24 AM
A truck carrying chlorine has lost its load at Booragul, prompting a large clean-up operation.

Police and firefighters are treating the incident as a chemical spill, and traffic heading along Five Islands Road to and from Toronto has been blocked in both directions.

Motorists should avoid the area or expect long delays.

Just more rubbish chemicals to add to the mix in Lake Macquarie. What do you do for the aquatic life suffering chlorine burn? Wonder whether it will react with the lead in the sediment on the bottom? One good thing happened - free travel on Toronto buses because of the huge delay!
