13 Feb, 2012 05:18 AM
Police are investigating the cause of a single-car crash that claimed the life of a woman on the Central Coast this morning.

About 3.30am a Nissan sedan travelling south on the Pacific Highway at Lake Munmorah lost control and hit a power pole.

The driver and only occupant, a woman aged in her 30s, suffered extensive injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police from Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command are on site and they will investigate all circumstances surrounding the crash.

The highway remains open at this stage but motorists are being advised that delays could be experienced.
