ACTOR Sarah Wynter was back in Newcastle yesterday to play a new role with the christening of her close friends' baby, Oliver.
Kiane and Charles von Mueffling also travelled from the US to have Oliver christened in St John's Anglican Church, Cooks Hill.
Wynter was easily drawn on how beautiful her home town is at the beginning of autumn, but remained tight-lipped on what she has planned when she returns to the US.
She refused to hint at whether her next role would be in film, television or theatre, but there have been recent reports that she has scored a role in a pilot titled Cutthroat as well as a recurring role in the television series Damages.
"I was hoping to have a three-week holiday here, but all of that could change at any minute," she said.
"I have to go back for a job.
"I just don't know when it starts."
Wynter has starred in Australian and US productions including the television series 24 and Australian film Three Dollars.
Her quick trip home was refreshing, she said.
"It's a really beautiful time to be here [Newcastle]."
