10 Feb, 2012 02:21 PM
A TREE has come down in the front yard of a home at Brooks Street, Cooks Hill, as the Bureau of Meteorology warns of severe thunderstorms for parts of the Hunter.

The approaching thunderstorm is likely to produce very heavy rainfall, flash flooding and large hailstones, the Bureau said.

The State Emergency Services are advising that people should move their car under cover, keep clear of creeks and storm water drains and not walk or ride through flood water

The Bureau will update the warning at 4.50pm.

Warnings are also available at the Bureau’s website at www.bom.gov.au or by calling 1300 659 218.
