AUSTRALIAN cruiserweight champion Daniel Ammann is raring to go in his battle with Samoan dynamo Lawrence Tauasa in Hamilton, New Zealand, tomorrow.
The man known as "The Doberman" will fight on the undercard of New Zealand's "Bout of the Century" between David Tua and Shane Cameron for the World Boxing Organisation Asia-Pacific heavyweight title.
Ammann's trainer, Peter Hallett, said the Stockton southpaw's first overseas fight would help raise his international profile as he sought to advance his career.
"It's going to give him exposure," Hallett said.
"It's on pay-per-view on main event TV throughout Australia and the Pacific and the night will be watched by American managers and promoters.
"It's a good opportunity for Daniel to show his talent."
Tauasa was a contestant on US boxing reality TV show The Contender and has 18 knockouts in a 31-6 record.
"He is Daniel's most dangerous opponent," Hallett said. "He's a devastating puncher. He is an experienced fighter and he has been training in America."
Ammann has been in peak form in the build-up to the six-round bout, following a second-round KO of Ata Fai at Mayfield Ex Services Club on August 30.
