ONE after another they climbed out of the Jets' club van.
Nikolai-Topor Stanley, Zhang Shuo, Sean Rooney, Ruben Zadkovich, Jobe Wheelhouse, Adam D'Apuzzo, Kaz Patafta - the Jets' rehabilitation group.
While the remainder of the squad sweated it out on Ray Watt Oval, the injured brigade watched from the sideline after returning from the nearby Forum gymnasium.
Topor-Stanley (hamstring), Zhang (calf), Patafta (hamstring) and Rooney (calf) missed the Jets's 1-0 loss to Perth on Saturday.
The others returned from the west with knocks.
Wheelhouse will have an MRI scan on his right knee today, Zadkovich is carrying hamstring and groin niggles and D'Apuzzo rolled his ankle.
D'Apuzzo is the only one likely to return to training today.
The Jets have the bye this weekend and coach Branko Culina is hopeful everyone, bar Rooney and Patafta, will be right for the crucial home clash against giant-killers Brisbane Roar in 10 days.
"Having the bye is probably not a bad thing for us due to the fact we have quite a few players who have pulled up a little lame and others who are still recovering from injury," Culina said.
"The week off will give us a little bit of extra time."
The Jets trained five days straight leading up to the Perth game but Culina dismissed suggestions that the heavy workload may have contributed to the injuries.
"It wasn't that we worked them that hard," he said.
"We had a heavier workload early in the week but really it is the travel.
"If you pick up a knock when you are travelling that distance it makes a difference as far as recovery is concerned."
Of the injured, most interest surrounds Zhang.
The Chinese international arrived in Australia last week after delays with a visa then suffered a small tear in his calf at training.
A misfiring Jets front third has scored one goal in three games but Culina said he would not risk Zhang until he was fit.
"He is no different to any other player, he needs to be ready," Culina said.
"He should be joining the team by the end of the week."
