AMONG the six sides in The Herald Women's Premier League there would not be many players hungrier in season two than Broadmeadow's Tara McMinn.
The 26-year-old central midfielder missed the second half of last season, which included Magic's 2-0 grand final victory over minor premiers Cardiff City, due to a calf injury.
A fully fit McMinn returns for Magic tomorrow in their opening clash with Valentine Phoenix at Adamstown Oval.
"I was really happy for the girls, I watched every game and was part of it that way, but not playing in the final was a big disappointment, but I think we can do it again this year," McMinn said.
There has been a host of changes at Broadmeadow with Matildas great Cheryl Salisbury handing the coaching reins to John Landkauf.
Two-goal grand final hero Ashley Wilson has also taken over the captaincy from W-League Jet Harmonie Attwill.
Cardiff have aligned themselves with state league club Edgeworth and will play under the Eagles banner this year, while the Maitland Magpies women's side have folded and been replaced by an Northern NSW Emerging Athletes Program team.
McMinn said the changes will ensure a more even competition.
"I think the comp is going to be a lot stronger this year, the girls are more spread out among the teams," she said.
She is also hopeful more WPL girls could impress W-League Jets coach Wayne O'Sullivan this season.
"A few girls who weren't in the picture before can get noticed and push on through the ranks into the Jets girls."
In other matches tomorrow, Adamstown Rosebud host Edgeworth and Merewether United face EAP.
