NATHAN Green will be surrounded by friends and family when he makes his US Masters debut next month.
The Toronto professional will rub shoulders with golfing royalty at Augusta National Golf Club in what is widely regarded as the greatest tournament in the world.
Green qualified for his sixth major tournament by winning the Canadian Open in his fourth season on the US PGA Tour last year.
The win secured his US tour card for 2010 and 2011 but more importantly gave him a shot at the Masters.
"We've got a good crew going over and he's lined up a few games for us before the Masters starts," said Green's older brother Darren who is the head professional at Toronto Country Club.
"He's going to have the week off before the Masters because that's when we arrive, and we're planning to have a couple of games with him before he leaves for the Masters."
Green plans to play in the Transitions Championship at the Innisbrook Resort in Florida this week and the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill next week before the Newcastle crew arrive.
The touring party includes brother Darren, brother-in-law Mick Dundas and father-in-law Don Nelson.
Nelson's brother Peter will also make the trip along with Green's best mate from Toronto junior and senior soccer, Chris Boling, and Kurri Kurri and Tanilba Bay head professional Lee Newman.
Green's other major appearances were at the 2001 British Open and the US Open and PGA Championship in 2006 and 2007.
