28 Jan, 2010 04:00 AM
CHARLESTOWN teenager Jake Higginbottom is one behind the leaders after shooting a five-under-par 66 at Muree Golf Club in round two of the NSW Amateur Championships yesterday.

The 15-year-old had a one-under-par 71 at Newcastle on Tuesday and shares third place with Queenslander Tim Hart at six under.

The pair trail leaders Reece Hodson from The Australian club in Sydney and Michael Williams from the St Michael's club at seven under par.

Williams shared the day-one lead with 2007 Lake Macquarie Men's Amateur Championship winner Blake McGrory who tumbled back through the field yesterday.

McGrory shot a five-under-par 67 at Newcastle on Tuesday but stumbled with a four-over-par 75 at Muree yesterday to drop back to equal 15th.

Toronto's Callan O'Reilly had a share of fifth place at five under par after rounds of 68 at Muree on Tuesday and 70 at Newcastle yesterday.
