SARAH Kemp birdied four of the last five holes to be a shot off the lead after the second round of the New Zealand Women's Open in Christchurch yesterday.
The Tuncurry professional posted a 67 to go with her opening-round 69 and finished one shot adrift of American Diana D'Alessio at eight under par.
Kemp's round was the second best behind Canadian Lorie Kane, who shot a 66 yesterday to move into fifth.
US PGA Tour players Nathan Green (70) and James Nitties (71) will be battling to make the cut despite solid rounds on the opening day of the Phoenix Open in Arizona yesterday.
