BILLIONAIRE harness racing owner Clive Palmer is confident North American pacer Fox Valley Appeal can bounce back from his Newcastle Mile disappointment and upset Blacks A Fake in the Cordina Sprint (1760 metres) at Harold Park tonight.
Fox Valley Appeal, trained and driven by Sawyers Gully's Adam Ruggari, finished last in his Australian debut in Newcastle last weekend.
Ruggari lodged a protest over the interference that Fox Valley Appeal suffered at the hands of race winner Special Albert on the first turn, but it was dismissed.
Palmer, who expressed interest in sponsoring the Newcastle Mile next year, has now set his sights on downing Australian horse of the year Blacks A Fake tonight and making it into the Miracle Mile field.
"I think he is beatable because his record at Harold Park is not all that flash," Palmer said.
