HAVING never been on the private toll roads before, I recently drove to Sydney.
I was quite surprised to see a toll booth flash up in front of me on my way to St Clair and quickly rang a friend, who assured me that you have 48 hours to ring the toll company and pay.
Upon arriving home I rang the RTA, which had no knowledge of my toll charge and gave me another number to ring. They gave me another number, which then placed me on hold.
I hung up and decided they could bill me. Bill me they did.
A total of $57.52 for the two toll points I passed on the drive to Sydney and back.
In this charge was a $40 "administration fee" for not paying within 48 hours.
Next time I will take the train.
