THE Newcastle Jets have signed former North Queensland Fury playmaker Chris Grossman as injury cover for Ben Kantarovski.
Kantarovski faces at least a month on the sideline after surgery last week to repair a torn meniscus, leaving the Jets midfield stocks thin.
Grossman made 43 A-League appearances for the Fury between 2009 and 2011.
Before that the 25-year-old played seven matches for Queensland Roar over three seasons and most recently had been playing with Moreland Zebras in the Victorian Premier League (VPL).
