Man charged with drug manufacture after raids at Tuggerah, Sydney

DRUG Squad detectives have arrested and charged a man with drug manufacture after raids at Tuggerah and in Sydney’s west yesterday.

Strike Force Whitman officers executed a search warrant at a home in Talia Close, Kingswood about 7.30am where they allegedly found a large clandestine drug laboratory in the kitchen.

Specialist police allegedly seized glassware used in the manufacture of prohibited drugs as well as pre-cursor chemicals and pseudoephedrine-based medicines. 

A man, 35, was arrested and taken to Penrith police station where he was charged with two counts of manufacture prohibited drugs. 

Police also searched an industrial unit in Teamster Close, Tuggerah about midday yesterday.

During the search, police allege they seized similar containers and chemicals as those found at Kingswood. 

The 35-year-old man was granted conditional bail in Penrith Local Court yesterday.

His matter was adjourned until January 11, 2013.
