GOOD TASTE: Try this

MORNING, noon or night, Milano’s On The Lake is a popular spot for sitting back, enjoying a bite and watching the world pass by.

Soak up views of the Watagans or simply enjoy the lake vista at Pelican at the eatery that has had new owner Claire Rampling at the helm since August. She has injected new life into the waterfront restaurant,  a new look and new website, and has removed surcharges on Sundays and public holidays, and made the eatery disabled-friendly.

Milano’s On The Lake is popular for weddings and functions, as well as being available for Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

Below is the recently launched weekend breakfast menu. Go to the website to see the degustation and a la carte menus. Dishes on offer include quail with an orange saffron glaze and a bed of red pilaf rice, roquette parmesan salad and a quail egg crouton; 16-hour slow cooked lamb – brisket seared lamb backstrap with ratatouille, green beans and rosemary jus; and deconstructed tiramisu – coffee panna cotta, chocolate brulee, mascarpone gelato, baileys jelly, almond biscotti and salted caramel.
