Armed men rob Edgeworth service station

Two men who took their hoodies off after being told they would not be allowed inside a service station later entered, placed their hoods back on and robbed the console operator armed with a knife.

Police said the employee at the Caltex service station at Edgeworth told the pair about 3.30am this morning that he would not unlock the doors to the shop until they showed their faces.

But as soon as they entered, the pair again masked their faces and robbed the man of cash and cigarettes.

They were last seen running towards Turnbull Street, where they may have jumped into a car.

Lake Macquarie detectives are investigating.
