THE Hunter’s beer lovers have had their fill for another year, as Newcastle Craft Beer Week came to a successful close today.
The final event, the Warners at the Bay Beer Festival, attracted a sell-out crowd.
Beer week organiser Corey Crooks said the event’s second year proved that craft beer was a successful recipe in Newcastle.
‘‘It’s been absolutely unbelievable,’’ Mr Crooks said.
‘‘The response has just been incredible and that goes right across the city.
‘‘On one night we had a total of 700 people at different venues for events.’’
Mr Crooks, who owns and runs the Albion Hotel, said he planned to stretch the festival over a month next year.
It would begin with the Bitter and Twisted International Boutique Beer Festival at Maitland Gaol and finish with a smaller festival at Fort Scratchley.
