ONE person is dead and two others have suffered serious injuries following a three-car accident on Wine Country Drive at Pokolbin this morning.
Police said the Cessnock man, 31, was driving a Holden Commodore sedan north along Wine Country Drive when it collided with a a parked Toyota Hilux utility and a southbound Ford Falcon sedan near the intersection of Broke Road.
The accident occurred before 6am.
The female driver of the Ford, 27, and her 31-year-old male passenger, were flown by Hunter Westpac rescue helicopter service to John Hunter Hospital for treatment.
A service spokesman said the man had suffered a suspected fractured pelvis while the woman is believed to have broken both ankles.
The male driver of the Toyota was not injured.
Wine Country Drive has now reopened for traffic.
