Ten teeth knocked out in alleged assault

A Central Coast man lost 10 teeth and was knocked unconscious after allegedly being assaulted with a steering wheel lock.

About 7pm Saturday a 20-year-old man went to a home belonging to a relative on Tall Timbers Road, Lake Munmorah.

While at the premises, the 20-year-old man became involved in an argument with a 42-year-old man who also lives at the home.

It is alleged the 20-year-old man then began to physically fight with the 42-year-old man and used a steering wheel lock to hit him repeatedly to the head and body.

When the 42-year-old man became unconscious, the 20-year-old man left the house, leaving him lying on the ground.

Police and other emergency services were notified and attended to the injured man.

The 42-year-old man was taken to Wyong Hospital before being air-lifted to Royal North Shore Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

As a result of the assault, the 42-year-old man received a fractured skull and had ten teeth knocked out.

The 20-year-old man attended Wyong Police Station yesterday where he was arrested and charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He will appear before Wyong Local Court today.
