LETTERS: Trams could be link to regeneration

CONGRATULATIONS to the Newcastle Herald for its front page on Tuesday which showed a scene from 1938. Look how well all vehicles – cars, trams and buses – combined to maintain steady flowing traffic.

Alas, in the early 1950s buses replaced trams and the city has slowly disintegrated.

As is occurring with cities around the world, and other areas in Australia, we should be reinstalling trams – light rail – services to regenerate the Lower Hunter Area.
