The Newcastle Jets youth team pulled off a last minute victory against South Cardiff despite a chaotic week for their club.
The team won 3-2 at Ulinga Park yesterday.
Owner Nathan Tinker announced on Tuesday that he was handing back the Jets’ licence to the FFA, citing an ‘‘untenable relationship’’ with the sport’s governing body.
Newcastle Herald website commentators had hinted at a bigger-than-average turnout at the youth game to show support for the Newcastle Jets, but crowd numbers failed to soar.
More in tomorrow’s Newcastle Herald.
