WOULD-be thieves got more than they bargained for when they attempted to steal motorcycles from a Broadmeadow dealership this morning.
Using a stolen tip truck, the thieves attempted to reverse through the back roller door of Graeme Boyd Motorcycles just after 3am.
But after crashing through the door, the truck crashed into a four-tonne forklift parked behind it.
The thieves still attempted to steal two bikes but left empty-handed after failing to get them outside.
Seven bikes have been damaged during the failed raid.
Newcastle City police are investigating.
