KNIGHTS captain Kurt Gidley has confirmed his NRL season is over.
After seeing shoulder specialist Des Bokor in Sydney today, the 29-year-old NSW and Australian utility tweeted: ‘‘I’m really really disappointed to announce that my season is unfortunately over. Need a shoulder reconstruction. Devastating....’’
Gidley dislocated his shoulder in Newcastle’s 34-14 victory over Penrith last Monday night.
It was the third time he had suffered the injury within the space of one year.
In his absence, the Knights were beaten 24-6 by Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium yesterday.
