POLICE have charged two people with the January murder of an elderly Gloucester man.
The 72-year-old victim was assaulted inside his home on Gregson Street and suffered serious head injuries.
He died on April 19 after being airlifted to Westmead Hospital in Sydney.
Detectives from the Manning-Great Lakes command initially arrested and charged a 41-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman with maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm.
The charges have now been upgraded to murder.
The accused are both in custody and will appear in Taree Local Court to face the new charges in July.
