Man threatened with double-barrelled shotgun

A MAN has told how he was threatened by three men armed with a double-barrelled shotgun as he walked along a suburban street last night.

The victim, 32, told police he was walking along Charles Street about 8.30pm when a hatchback similar to a Hyundai Excel drove up next to him.

He said a man sitting in the front passenger seat then pointed the shotgun at him and told him to hand over his wallet.

The car then drove off.

The victim said he believed three men were on board.

Newcastle City detectives are investigating.
