Motorcyclist dies after collision with truck

A MOTORCYCLIST has died after being involved in a head-on collision with a B-double truck on George Booth Drive this morning.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene at Stockrington about 11.50am.

As a result of the collision the motorcycle rider, a 21-year-old man, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.

The 49-year-old truck driver was not injured and was taken to Kurri Kurri Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.

George Booth Drive was closed as police and the crash investigation unit examined the scene, but it has now reopened.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
