THE Newcastle Jets have continued their raid on Australia’s young talent, today announcing they had signed former Gold Coast youngster Joshua Brillante to a two-year deal.
Brilliante’s signature follows that of fellow young guns Scott Neville, Craig Goodwin, Adam Taggart, James Brown and Mark Birighitti.
A member of the Australian under-20 squad, Brillante, 19, made 14 senior appearance for Gold Coast and was part of their youth team which won back-to-back championships.
‘‘Josh is a member of the under 20’s national team and has proven himself at A-League level with the Gold Coast last season,” Jets coach van Egmond said.
‘‘He can play as a right-back or central midfielder and has a great attitude. Again, he is definitely one for the future.’’
