RENOWNED Upper Hunter thoroughbred breeder Arthur Mitchell has been recognised for outstanding service in the horse industry's annual awards.
Mr Mitchell was named at a ceremony on Wednesday night as the winner of the Hunter Thoroughbred Breeders Association President's Award for his "outstanding and life-long" service to the industry.
Mr Mitchell is co-owner of Yarraman Park stud, near Scone.
The awards have been made by the association for 21 years.
