Former Wallabies Steve Merrick and Terry Curley appeared at Hunter Stadium this morning for the ticket sale launch for the upcoming Test against Scotland.
Tickets go on sale tomorrow for the match, which will be the first rugby union Test played in Newcastle.
Former Singleton halfback Merrick said he believed that the Test would heighten the popularity of rugby union and increase paricipation in the sport throughout the Hunter Region.
Lord Mayor John Tate, Newcastle MP Tim Owen and Minister for the Hunter Michael Gallacher were also on hand for the announcement.
Hunter Stadium is expected to fill its 33,000-seat capacity for the match.
Tickets will be available from proticket.com.au
