Four members of Newcastle Jets advisory board sacked

THE Newcastle Jets cleanout continued today with the announcement that four members of the club’s advisory board had been sacked.

Former Socceroos vice captain Ray Baartz will retain his role as chairman but journalist Neil Jameson, former KB United player Keith Harris, former Matildas captain Cheryl Salisbury and Socceroo Joe Senkalski are no longer involved.

“With the changing times and new challenges, we are looking to take the club in a new direction,” Jets chief executive Robbie Middleby said in statement.

“We would like to thank Neil, Keith, Cheryl and Joe for their contribution and dedication over the past 18 months.

“We look forward to Ray’s continued support and expertise as our chairman, and in time, welcoming new board members to the Jets.”
