THREE teenagers have been arrested after a number of car chases and a bushland search this morning.
Dog squad, the Pol Air helicopter and Hunter police were all involved in seeking the trio, who fled into the bush after the allegedly stolen car they were driving hit spikes near Neath.
Police began pursuing the group before 8am this morning, taking all three into custody about 10.40am.
The first chasebegan in the Sandy Hollow area, where police began following a station wagon they allege was stolen and used in a number of fail-to-pay offences.
They began chasing it again on the Golden Highway at Jerry’s Plains shortly after 8am, eventually tracing it to a Greta petrol station.
It is alleged the group committed another fail-to-pay there before highway patrol officers resumed the pursuit.
Following tyre spikes at Neath a short time later, the three youths allegedly dumped the vehicle in Forbes Street at Abermain before fleeing into bushland.
The trio have been taken to Cessnock Police Station where they are assisting police with their inquiries.
