A DOG was thrown through a car window when a man charged with drink driving slammed into a tree at Karuah, police have said.
A 41-year-old Twelve Mile Creek man appeared in Raymond Terrace Local Court today charged with mid-range drink driving after his station wagon lost traction on Tarean Road, Karuah.
Police allege the car spun and then slammed into a tree, which fell to the ground.
The driver suffered minor injuries and allegedly recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.113.
Port Stephens Police said the man’s dog was thrown some distance from the collision.
Police at the scene said the dog was limping but was expected to make a full recovery.
