SELLING our power generators (‘‘O’Farrell seals electricity deal’’ Herald 31/5) is a short-term fix by the O’Farrell government. Just look back at the Victorian example – let alone anywhere else in the world where this type of state asset sell-off has happened. The disposal of any public asset never seems to be put to the vote, possibly because the response would not be what the seller wants.
I have been in the power industry for nearly 40years and have seen various public assets sold. Not one has benefited the general public. Let’s stop this lunatic government from conducting any more fire sales.
