A WOMAN was taken to hospital after being trapped in car after a crash at Beresfield.
The two-car collision happened just before 6am on Beresford Avenue, near Delprat Avenue.
A woman, aged in her 50s, was initially trapped in one of the vehicles.
She suffered a head injury and possible chest injuries and was taken to Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition.
A second person was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
